As you can see, it takes cooperation from a lot of people to make a successful Field Day. The HCRA thanks everyone for their “beyond the horizon” effort, we couldn’t have done it without you.
I can’t close this page without a special mention of two people, whose incredible efforts made this a “Special Event”
Dave, KB1FRH. Dave was in charge of generators and power distribution. He brought a 5KW generator, equipment shelters, cords, distribution panels, a trailer full of tools, his family and the BIGGEST fan you have ever seen! He stayed on site for 48 hours, helped with every facet of the operation and was always there to cheer up or help out tired particpants. This was Dave’s first Field Day, I can’t wait to see what he does next year! Thank you Dave for an extra special effort.
John, KX1X. John took over as chairman of the Field Day committee, mainly because he has a disease of his right arm – it keeps popping up whenever someone calls for volunteers! His infectious enthusiasm kept everyone striving to do their best. Couple that with his outstanding contesting abilities (oh, that’s right, this isn’t a contest) on 15M phone and this FD was a real winner. A special thanks from HCRA for a job well done!
Watch the web page for our final score, but rest assured the score far exceeds the last two HCRA Field Days and last year’s joint FD also. Planning has already started for FD 2002, with the site reservation already accomplished. Mark your calendars now for next years fun event.
’73…
Jim, KK1W
